Community day service in Telford

Good days, made together.

Lexrae Community Hub is a day service in Telford for adults and young people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions and physical disabilities.

It is not a day centre where you sit and wait for the day to pass. You cook, make things, get out into Telford, and build the skills you want for work and for everyday life.

Open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Edward James House, Hadley Park, Telford, TF1 6QJ.

Three ways in

Most people arrive one of three ways. Whichever fits you, start by talking to us.

Through your social worker

If you have a social worker or care manager, they can arrange a place and the council pays us directly. We will tell them what evidence they get back for reviews.

What professionals need to know

Using a direct payment

If you get a direct payment, you can buy days with it. We invoice you and give you receipts, so you can show the council what the money was spent on.

Paying for sessions yourself

You can buy days without any funding. Our prices are published, so you can see the cost before you ask.

What a day looks like

Days are built around what people want to get better at. Some of it happens in our kitchen, art room and garden, and a lot of it happens out in Telford.

People preparing fresh vegetables together

Cooking and food

Plan a meal, shop for it, cook it and clear up after.

People painting and making art together at a table

Art and making

Painting, drawing, textiles and craft, at your own pace.

A group walking together in the community

Out in Telford

Cafes, shops, the library and the park, using the town like anyone else.

A person rolling out an exercise mat

Wellbeing and movement

Walks, games and gentle exercise that suit the person, not the group.

Gardening tools, plants and a wheelbarrow in a garden

Gardening

Growing things, looking after tools, and being outside.

Two people learning laundry and clothes-folding skills together

Skills for work

Timekeeping, working with others, following a task through, handling money.

You will know how the day went

You should not have to guess, or wait until pick up and hope for a full answer. Families and carers get their own login to the Hub.

  • Photos from the dayWhere the person has agreed to photos being taken and shared with you.
  • What they did, and how it wentThe activities, who they were with, and progress towards the goals they chose.
  • Message the teamAsk a question or tell us something we should know, without ringing at a busy moment.

Nobody sees anything unless they are linked to the person, and a manager has to approve every link before it works.

Who we are

The Hub is run by Lexrae Support Ltd, a Telford company. We recruit people for how they treat others first, everyone is checked through the Disclosure and Barring Service, and nobody works on their own until they are trained. More about us.

Come and look round

The best way to decide is to come and see it. Have a cup of tea, meet the team, and stay as long as you want.
